Belleville, IL – HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC), is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, December 15, in the Millennium Room from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Convenient parking is available just outside the Southern Illinois Heart Institute building at 340 West Lincoln Street (the back of the hospital).

Lyke, chair of the Board of Directors for HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, was one of twelve recipients of the Belleville Achieves Strength in Character (BASIC) Initiative’s Mary McHugh Citizens of Character Award for 2015. The awards were presented at BASIC’s annual dinner on Tuesday, November 17.

Belleville, IL – Recently, the HSHS Postgraduate Year Two (PGY-2) Pharmacy Informatics Residency Program was granted immediate preliminary accreditation by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The announcement came after an onsite visit by ASHP surveyors on October 27-28, 2015.

Belleville, IL – On November 3, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital awarded Ashley Hundelt, a Registered Nurse from the Med/Surg 6th floor, the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. A DAISY Team award was also given to Jennifer Lay, Kristal Story, Brian Michalowski, Carla Grandcolas, Julie Denton, Kathy Dryden and Janelle Wallace from the Critical Care Unit (CCU) as well as Susan Hale, Respiratory Therapist and Cindy Muren of Palliative Care. The awards are part of the DAISY Foundation's nationwide program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform everyday. St. Elizabeth's introduced participation in the nationally recognized DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing in May 2015.
