Belleville - St. Elizabeth’s Hospital will provide free Diabetes Risk Tests, on-demand glucose tests and education on Tuesday, March 24 in honor of American Diabetes Association Alert Day. This national event is a “wake-up call” asking the American public to take a one-minute Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has partnered with East Side Health District to sign-up people at an on-site enrollment center in Room 2308 (main floor) at 211 S. Third Street in Belleville. With the deadline this weekend, hours for this enrollment center have been extended to be open from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, February 12-14.

BELLEVILLE, IL - In recent years, many rural Illinois hospitals have expressed a need for tele-medicine and tele-health services to better serve patients. Beginning this past summer, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and 15 other hospitals formed the “Illinois CONNECT Rural Health Tele-Network” (Tele-CONNECT). Tele-CONNECT’s purpose is to coordinate and improve the access, quality and delivery of tele-medicine and tele-health services for patients in underserved and rural areas of central and southern Illinois.

Belleville – HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Wound Care Center will be celebrating their second anniversary on December 18. This date not only serves as the anniversary of the Wound Care Center’s opening, but also marks the beginning of healing for many area residents who suffer from chronic or non healing wounds. Since opening in 2012, the Center has seen 558 new patients, and provided over 5940 wound care visits, resulting in over 700 healed wounds.
