Friends of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital receive $5,000 donation Scott Credit Union Challenge Grant

Friends of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital receive $5,000 donation from
Scott Credit Union Challenge Grant

Belleville – Scott Credit Union presented a $5,000 check to the Friends of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in response to their challenge to residents and businesses within the southern Illinois community to support the hospital during their Spring Campaign.

“We realize the great service that St. Elizabeth’s Hospital provides to people in our area,” said Scott Credit Union President & CEO Frank Padak.  “Many of these same people are our members, and we are excited to be involved in supporting the hospital with this fund-raising effort.”
Scott Credit Union matched each dollar donated to the Friends of St. Elizabeth’s for their Spring Campaign, up to $5,000.  The Campaign, which continues to run through June 30, 2013, has been received well by the community. Proceeds from the Campaign will be used to support philanthropic projects that are of greatest need at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

“We wanted a philanthropic spark – one to ignite the flame of compassionate giving in the hearts of our community,” explained Natalie Jablonski, Director of Philanthropy at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. “It is our hope that Scott Credit Union will inspire others to work together to philanthropically support healthcare excellence.”

“We feel that it is important to give back to our community. This is just a small token of Scott Credit Union’s appreciation for what St. Elizabeth’s does for the people of our community,” noted Padak. “The response that this challenge grant sparked the past two years was impressive. We hope that in this year it will be even bigger.”

Those interested in making a donation can visit the Hospital’s website at www.steliz.org/give to print a donation form and contribute to the Campaign.  For more information please call 618.234.2120, ext. 2728.
