St. Elizabeth’s Hospital has completed a major expansion of its operating and recovery suites. With this completion, the entrance to St. Elizabeth’s Emergency Room and its Outpatient Surgery Department has been expanded. Outpatient Surgery patients now have valet parking and a new drop-off and pick-up area directly in front of the hospital. This is very convenient for surgery patients upon arrival or upon discharge.
We encourage visitors and family members to use the Parking Garage. The entrance to the Parking Garage is off South Third Street. Parking is free. There are direct entrances from the parking garage to the first and second floor of the hospital.
Visitors are reminded that at certain times during the year, if there is a flu or respiratory illness affecting the general population, the hospital requests that visitors should not visit hospitalized patients. Flu and colds are highly contagious and for the patient’s protection and overall welfare, visitors would do more good for themselves and the patient by not visiting. At times during the year, children under the age of four (4) are asked not to visit patients and family members in the hospital.
The Southern Illinois Heart Institute (SIHI) is an adjoining building with medical services and physician offices. The entrance to the SIHI building is off Lincoln Street. There is plenty of patient parking next to SIHI with a convenient covered drop-off area for patients making a doctor’s visit. Outpatient testing is performed in the SIHI building.
